Eileen Mullins & her Ministry

[Dawn Reed, Eileen Mullins, Tonya Parker with Ethel & Danette; Crosses at Haven of Rest]

[Eileen showing group around new building under construction; beam of new building]

On our way to visit Haven of Rest (see related information about Eileen and Haven of Rest as part of the "Otter Creek-Day Two" posting), we stopped in to meet and thank Dawn and Tonya, two of the women who - along with Eileen - lead Bible Study at Otter Creek. Due to their work schedule, they were not able to attend our presentation, so we went to them. How wonderful to meet these women, who take time from their busy lives to minister to strangers in prison. Eileen gave us a tour of the new facility under construction, that will be able to house many more families as they come to visit their loved ones at the Kentucky Federal Penitentiary. It was quite moving to see Bible versus that the construction volunteers had written on the beams of the new facilities. This building will definitely be girded by the everlasting word of our God! The beam pictured above has written: "The grass withers and the flowers fades, but the word of our God lasts forever." Isaiah 40:8
